<itunes:summary>Resident Advisor has done it again...they've cranked out yet another rock solid, fresh podcast. This time it comes from two guys David Togher and Graeme White who together call themselves Murmur. If there's one thing I continue to respect about Resident Advisor, it's the fact that keep finding airtight mixes from artists I've never heard of ;) ...has Eddie B just been living under a rock? ...where did these cats come from?
I'm really digging this mix (...of course, or I wouldn't be writing this post, right?). These guys have a fresh sound. The jury seems to be calling this mix "dub techno." I'll be honest; the dub elements are pretty manifest throughout, but the techno seems to come and go...in fact, there are a few points where you just feel like you're listening to downtempo.
Before I tell you to click the play icon below and enjoy, I'll mention the caveat that this mix isn't for everybody (but then again, what mix is?...) If you're looking for something upbeat, this isn't gonna be your thing...but if you want some good, mellowed-out, intelligent tunes, this mix has you covered.
Enjoy!

<itunes:summary>Here's some more aural dopeness for ya...
Nick Muir turned in a guest mix for Digweed's Kiss 100 show, and it's solid.
I've seen Nick's name in a number of places, but I never knew he was a DJ. He's a long-time producer, but I think his career behind the decks is a relatively early-stage thing (but don't quote me on that). Of course, Nick is most famous in the electronic music industry for being one-half of the Bedrock production team (alongside John Digweed). Back in the 80s, he was actually a session musician playing with various rock acts. (Nick is a virtuoso pianist.) In the late 80s and early 90s, he started getting into the nascent rave scene, and then the dance music bug bit him ;) ...soon after that, he linked up with Digweed, a rising DJ at the time, and the rest is history.
Nick's recent Kiss 100 mix has proggy and techy elements, in a way that's subtly different from most of the stuff I'm hearing these days. It's not super out-of-the-box; I find it to be a down-the-fairway, get-the-job-done kinda mix that makes for some really good listening.
Anyway, enough of my talking about Nick and his mix, click the play icon below to check it out for yourself!
...and for those interested, I've given the tracklist below...
Nima Garij - Green Life - Welt SoundsSabb - Dead Corps (Ahmet Sendil remix) - SK SupremeThomas Sagstad - Superman (Ian F remix) - MashtronicMike Shannon - Closed Question - Plus 8Damian Saint – Suntek (James Talk Remix) - SuesseGuy J -Mikro (Nick Muir Edit) - BedrockJorg Henze – Karbon - DmomDavid  Gausse - Into the Deep - Sutil
Enjoy!

<itunes:summary>It's time for the next installment of the RV Customer Mix series, and this one is Long Overdue!
RV Customer Mix 008 comes from Matt Terrey, who's living in Dubai these days (in the United Arab Emirates), which he commonly references as the "Sandpit."
Matt has actually been a registered member of Resonant Vibes for so long that I can't even track his registration date :D ...he's on that short list of people who joined before we even had the ability to log signup dates.
Of course, since Matt lives a long way from Louisville, Kentucky, I've never had the chance to meet him. ...but over the years, we've traded plenty of emails, and we've spoken on the phone. I can honestly say he's another one of those DJs who's devoted serious chunks of his life (both in terms of time and energy) to the pursuit of his passion for electronic music. He's another one of our customers that I hope to meet at some point.
We had a phone chat not too long back that really gave me some insight into the source of Matt's creative inspiration. I think we all have one or two clubbing experiences that standout in our minds as being those ineffably tight experiences where we really got lost in the music and absorbed in a string of truly blissful moments. ...well, as I was talking to Matt, I told him about some of my best experiences at Twilo (back in its heyday), and he started telling me about one of his best electronic music experiences. ....I'm not sure, but I think it was in New Zealand, back around when Digweed released his Los Angeles CDs on Global Underground. Matt told me that Digweed came to some remote area and played a set into the dawn. He said there was a fog gently rolling in and that the experience was truly magical. Experiences like this are the kind that make us lifelong devotees of electronic music, and that's what Matt has become.
Of course, this isn't just a post about Matt; this is a post about a mix. I asked him to send me a link to a mix, and he sent me links to several. The one I chose to post here is titled "Old Broken Sounds." While this mix is a bit older, I chose it because it's the one that I found myself wanting to play again and again. It's a particularly interesting choice given that I'm not generally a huge fan of breaks...but if done right, progressive breaks can really get good to me, and Matt does them right here!
I should point out that this was a mix that Matt put together "for friends," so it's not like a studio mix that's been mastered and edited after the fact. It's a mix from a solid DJ with an ear and passion for good tunes. Click the play icon below to check out Matt's mix. It makes for really good listening...the kinda of tunes you can put on, kick back, and enjoy!
For those interested, I've posted the tracklist below. ....if you're a progressive fan, then I'm sure some of the names below will mean something to you ;) ...you may also notice that Matt included one of his own edits here....tipping his hand as a producer, not just a DJ.
1 Brahma - Peaks of Destiny
2 James Talk - Beef Curtains  (Fretwell Mix)
3 Blue Haze - A Time to Reflect
4 Jono Fernandez - Directions in Groove (Everyday Downers Mix)

14 Pole Folder - Sacred to Lose!
15 Halogen vs Nash T - On a Bridge

<itunes:summary>Here's a solid mix for ya! ...this is Magda holding it down on Electronic Beats radio this month...I found this mix online and decided I'd have ugly karma if I didn't share it with you :D
I've had the pleasure of hearing Magda live a couple of times, and I've been really impressed on both occasions; she gets the job done! This mix has some really dope stretches in it. It's kinda got a groovin', laid back feel, but then in certain places it catches you off guard and gets nasty....of course, Magda's of the M_Nus persuasion so there are countless little tweaky sounds going on in these tracks that will screw with your head. The parts I really like are the ones that have that heavy-feeling beat...like the ones that are pounding at the 14:55 mark and the 37-minute mark.
I hope I'm not out of line here (since I have a serious girlfriend and all...and since Magda probably doesn't want me getting flirty)...but is it just me, or does a woman make herself practically irresistable when she can play a killer techno set?! Well, 'nuff props to ya Magda! ...keep doin' your thing :D
...oh yeah, if you're interested in the tracklist, I've copied and pasted it below...

<itunes:summary>I don't know much at all about Convextion...I had never heard of him until one night Sam and I were in the office late, and he put on a couple of Convextion mixes. I poked around online, and I found the following bio:
"Gerard Hanson [Convextion] was born in 1972. He hails from the unlikely environments of Dallas, Texas USA. Little is known about this producer who seems to have Scandinavian roots. His productions have reflections with Basic Channel/Chain Reaction sound. His main inspirations are Juan Atkins and Derrick May. His music also has influences from Stefan Robbers, Red Planet and Carl Craig. He found a way where everything came together: Deepness, Minimalism and Soul, the Detroit-Berlin connection. In 1994 Gerard Hanson and Dan Kurzius started ‘Hardsync’, a Magazine dedicated to electronic music reviews and artist interviews. It has been defunct since 1996 as a result of a computer crash. Hard Sync was an outlet for several Texas-based electronic music enthusiasts to reach out to others around the world that shared similar musical interests. He released his first 12” in 1995. Ever since his debut 12” on Matrix in 1995. From 1995-1997, he released 5 ep’s, and then only 2 more in the next 6 years until 2005. The reason he produced so infrequently was because when his first releases came out, the tracks were licensed to some big releasers and he did not get paid for them. After that some other labels approached him but just wanted more of the same and didn’t really seem to understand his sound. They just wanted more of the same sounds. After that he stopped releasing music and produced only for his personal usage. After a couple of years the label Down Low convinced him to pick up his producing again. He is very careful about sharing his music with the rest of the world."
Anyway, I've really been enjoying the two Convextion mixes that I got from Sam. I don't know much about them, but they're older, and they're good stuff. These are the kinda mixes you can just throw on and let play. ...when I find myself really enjoying some mixes, I'm usually inclined to post here to share them with you!
...so click the play icon below to check out two really good mixes from Convextion!
Enjoy :D
